IWOULD like to invite inquisitive, energetic and socially conscious 18-year-old readers to consider spending part of their upcoming 'gap' year in Israel and the Middle East.
Through the generosity of British supporters of the Friends of Israel Educational Trust, we intend to offer 12 travel scholarships to Israel this year.
Award winners will work on a Kibbutz, teach in an Israeli desert new town, run community projects in an Israeli Arab village, participate in an archaeological dig, and spend free time travelling extensively within Israel, the Palestinian entity and the neighbouring Arab states.
Further details of the Bridge in Britain scholarships are available from: John Levy, Bridge in Britain/FOIET, POB 7545, London NW2 2QZ. Please enclose a stamped addressed envelope>
