CHAD Grainger and Paul Barratt were an inspiring double-act, helping Accrington to win the battle of the bottom two at Rawtenstall.
The professional's third-wicket partnership of 73 with Paul Barratt, who made a determined half century, was largely responsible for Accrington reaching a respectable 154. But there were doubts it would be enough.
Grainger, however, also turned up trumps with the ball and there were three catches for Barratt too as Rawtenstall slumped to 105 all out.
Victory enabled Accrington to put daylight between themselves and the wooden spoon position.
