HOW much longer have users of park bowling greens in Blackburn to sit back and watch them be slowly destroyed by the unruly mobs who wreak havoc every night, especially at Green park?
Full-scale football matches are played on the once-lovely greens.
Motorbikes and cycles are ridden across them. Holes have been dug, turf lifted, bowls stolen and stones thrown at bowlers.
The bowling pavilion is damaged practically every night and broken into. Doors are smashed and replaced regularly.
Handbags are stolen while their owners watch matches.
The park rangers are conspicuous by their absence.
The bowlers have been very patient. It is only a matter of time before the bowling greens become unusable and the parks will become no-go areas.
So come on, you councillors and people in authority, do something before it's too late.
J DUCKETT, Ernlouen Close, Blackburn.
