WHEELER-DEALERS Burnley are ready turn their sights on big Vince Overson after the capture of Nigel Gleghorn from Stoke City today.
Attacking midfielder Gleghorn was due to sign a two-year deal following a Turf Moor medical.
Now Heath could follow his first major capture by landing Gleghorn's Victoria Ground team-mate.
Heath confirmed: "I'm delighted that Nigel Gleghorn has decided to join us and we are still interested in Vince Overson.
"Nigel will bring a lot of experience to Burnley. He's had at least a dozen offers over the past month but has decided to join Burnley.
"He may be in the twilight of his career, but he entered the professional game very late and is proven at a high level." Heath added: "I know Lou Macari was keen to keep him, but I have managed to persuade him to sign, and it wouldn't surprise me if we negotiate another contract for him in two years' time." The arrival of Gleghorn means the imminent departure of midfielder Warren Joyce to Third Division Hull City.
The experienced Clarets star held further talks with Boothferry Park chief Terry Dolan today and could link up with Hull in a £30,000 deal later this week.
Heath added: "It's up to Warren if he wants to join Hull. He's over there today speaking with Terry Dolan. He had a good spell on loan there and enjoyed it at Hull."
Meanwhile, assistant manager John Ward is ready to launch a Burnley Second Division promotion assault.
Ward began his new role as Heath's number two yesterday and said: "I've had five years as a manager at York and Bristol Rovers.
"And I'm looking forward to this task immensely.
"The name Burnley has a real ring to it in football and I'm proud to be involved with the club.
"I've no qualms about coming in as an assistant. I enjoy the coaching side of the job and I am looking forward to that a lot.
"I'm not coming as a bit part player. Adrian is quite new to the job and I feel I've got a wealth of experience to offer Adrian and Burnley.
"The players know that they underachieved last season and we have to put a little bit of pressure on them. We will be asking far more from them."
