THE decision by Tony Blair and his spin doctors to do a U-turn on devolution for Scotland and Wales has sparked off a fierce debate within the Labour Party about Blair's autocratic style of leadership.
Mr Blair appears to want the policies of the Labour Party to be decided by himself and his close advisers, whether the rest of his party likes it or not.
It is no surprise that this has caused deep unrest within the Labour Party. Perhaps Mr Blair needs a gentle reminder that we live in a democratic country, not the Third Reich.
D PEARSON (Mr), Vice Chairman Blackburn Conservative Party, Rawstorne Street, Blackburn.
