NELSON hairdresser Sara Veevers has got the call from the British Athletics Federation to join the Great Britain team at Hexham this weekend.
Sara will compete in the high jump in the Under 23 International involving the home team in a triangular tussle with Germany and Russia.
Her personal best mark of 1.75 metres was set during the Northern Championships at Sheffield on June 1 this year.
A former Lancashire and Lancashire Schools champion, she has represented Great Britain Catholic Schools in the European Championships where she placed second a couple of years ago.
She joins high jump training partner, Rob Brocklebank of Blackburn, in the team at Hexham.
Both are coached at Witton Park by Blackburn College lecturer, Joe Fleming, who also trains Chorley's Philip Livesey who is due to compete in the English Schools Championships.
