LEYLAND DAF won their first trophy for 23 years when they beat Netherfield by two wickets in a pulsating finish with only three balls remaining at Sandy Lane.
Netherfield won the toss and elected to bat. They struggled against some accurate Leyland DAF bowling.
Sefton Prince was the pick of the bowlers with one for ten off his allotted six eight ball overs.
Netherfield professional Ian Wrigglesworth, with 66 not out, held his sides innings together as they finished at 145-6.
Leyland DAF appeared to be cruising to victory when Steven Knox and Dipak Patel put on a hundred for the first wicket but the umpires took the players off the field for rain for 24 minutes, which changed the complexion of the game.
DAF lost four wickets, obtaining the final 13 runs for victory.
Dipak Patel carried his bat for 54, while Netherfield professional Ian Wrigglesworth finished with 3 for 19.
