YOUR correspondent 'Fed up patient' is disgusted at the "overweight and grossly obese people" of Wigan and surrounding towns.
I would prefer to be a few pounds overweight than a skinny stereotype, an appearance which rapidly became unfashionable with the introduction of concentration camps in the 1930s
History has shown some of the most unattractive people on Earth were underweight: Mrs Simpson and Charles Hawtrey come instantly to mind.
If 'Fed up patient' wants to lead a healthy life, so be it. But he or she shouldn't interfere with the habits of others.
Portly and proud of it
