THE second Northern Women's League Division Three West match of the current campaign saw Blackburn Harriers playing host.
The club showed themselves to be short in numbers, but long in quality, finishing fifth in a match dominated by a very strong team from Blackpool and Fylde.
Top Blackburn scorer, yet again, was Rebecca White. She notched what has become a customary double in the Under-17 100 and 300m, and finished off a splendid hat-trick by winning the long jump.
There was excellent Blackburn sprinting in the senior 100m. Newly crowned Northern champion Hannah Eatough won the A race in 12.7 seconds and Katherine Stokes saw off the B strings in 13.3.
There were two good javelin wins by Sandra Ansbro in the senior competition and Sandra Duckworth in the Under-17s.s=6 l=6.5f=Zurich Cn BT f-b f-iOther Blackburn placings - 2nd: R Hodgkinson A senior 800 and 1500m; N Farnworth B senior 800m; C Nicholson A Under-15 800m; K Curnow A senior discus; R Talbot A Under-17 80m hurdles; L Slater B under 17 80m hurdles; N Khomsi B Under-15 200m; S Williams A Under-15 1500m.
