TRADING Standard bosses have appealed to the people of Leigh to keep a sharp lookout for counterfeit whisky and contaminated vodka which may be offered for sale cheaply at car boot sales or in pubs and clubs. The warning comes after analysis of seized bottles in West Yorkshire shows the bottles contain diluted methylated spirits which can cause blindness. The 'moonshine' whisky is labelled 'Royal Game Finest Blended Scotch Whisky' while the vodka carries the description 'Russian Vodka'.
If anyone discovers one of these bottles they should contact Trading Standards immediately. Under no circumstances should anyone drink it! The number to ring is 01942 827476.
