BATSMAN Micky Graham is believed to have been suspended by Whalley for his club's next two Vaux Ribblesdale League games.
The league are currently inquiring into an alleged incident involving Graham and Edenfield's Mark Burns during the recent game between the clubs. A disciplinary hearing is likely to be held in the near future, but Whalley may have pre-empted that by staging their own inquiry this week.
Players at the club have been told to stay "tight-lipped" about the inquiry and refused to comment.
But league secretary Jack Cross confirmed that the Ribblesdale League have, so far, taken no action.
Meanwhile, Whalley may well have to play without a professional tomorrow when they take on fellow-strugglers Cherry Tree. Mark Fallon is expected to miss out because of business commitments.
