FORMER Manchester City and Oldham striker Paul Moulden is on the verge of joining Accrington Stanley.
Moulden has had talks with Accrington officials today and could link up with Stanley early next week.
"We've made Paul Moulden a fabulous offer and we're all very hopeful that he will be an Accrington Stanley player soon," revealed Director of Football Brent Peters.
"He is a quality striker with a good pedigree and his signing would be a major coup for the club."
Moulden has delayed signing any deal with at least one Football League club keen to take him.
Peters added: "Paul is keeping his options open and he wants a little bit more time to think things over. But we remain very optimistic that he will sign."
Striker Brian Welch has signed a new twelve month contract at the Crown Ground.
