BURNLEY'S newly formed Independent Supporters' Association will launch their key manifesto next month.

And organisers are appealing for Burnley fans to come on down when the Clarets ISA announce their action strategy at the Park View public house on August 1.

"The Supporters' Association aim is to give Burnley fans an opportunity to open up a meaningful communication with the club they support," said spokesman David Wynne. "Our main watchword is communication. We want as many fans to join us as possible. We want to give all Burnley fans a voice to enable us to forge a useful dialogue with the board of directors over issues which directly involve the fans. "We want to be positive and offer constructive criticism. The one biggest single problem with Burnley in the past has been their lack of communication with the fans and local media."

The Independent Supporters have also outlined several key target areas:

Admission and pricing policy at Turf Moor.

Design of future kits.

Merchandising of the club.

"For instance, we think the club missed a fantastic opportunity to consult with the fans over the new home and away kits, " added Mr Wynne.

"Rochdale consulted with their fans over a recent kit change. I think Burnley would have got a positive reaction if they had done the same with representatives of their own fans.

"Most of all, though, we hope to have a say in general matters affecting the fans with the co-operation of other supporters clubs. For our aims to be achieved we need the support of the fans."

The Independent Supporters Association are planning to release a regular newsletter.
