A HORRIFIED manageress today told of the terrifying moment when a "madman" tied her up and robbed a restaurant of more than £1,000 in cash.

Barbara Mullin, 22, was grabbed from behind by an attacker who pushed a sharp object into her back and threatened her just before 2am yesterday morning.

Today, bosses of the McDonald's drive through at Ewood were considering offering a reward to help catch the robber.

And bosses at the burger chain were offering Barbara counselling to help her over her ordeal.

The manageress, who has worked for McDonald's for five years, vowed to return to work after she had recovered from her ordeal.

She said: "I was fumbling for my keys and I had just collected some litter when somebody approached me and put their arm around me.

"He told me he knew the alarm code and made me open the safe then he tied me up and pushed me to the floor.

"I just thought he was a madman, I was in shock."

Barbara managed to untie herself and raise the alarm before being treated for more than an hour at Blackburn Infirmary for the effects of shock.
