A PLASTICS firm has been snapped up as part of a £2.5 million deal.
Blackburn-based Building & Engineering Plastics has been bought, along with a Midlands-based firm, by the British Fittings Group.
BEP, which also has an office in Scotland, supplies plastic products for the building and engineering industries.
These include plastic fabricators, chemical plant and pipe line installers.
The combined net assets of BEP and Building & Engineering Plastics (Midlands) Ltd are around £1 million and profits before tax last year were £280,709.
"The acquisition continues our strategy of enhancing product range and geographical coverage," said Brian Stanton, chief executive.
"Together the companies represent one of the largest independent thermoplastic distributors in the UK and have considerable experience in the sector."
BEP was founded in 1972 by Frank Barnes and Ron Booth.
