KENNY Thomas is the soul-singing celebrity to be the latest on the SuperScan fund-raising bandwagon.
He will be perform at Utopia nightclub, Blackburn, on Friday and the proceeds from 500 tickets sold for the evening will go towards the £1 million campaign.
Kenny, 27, said he was delighted to offer his support to the SuperScan Appeal.
"One of the great things about being a musician is that you have the chance to help charities," he said. "I have performed for organisations and charities, including bone marrow transplants and I am all for helping other people. I'm very pleased to be singing at a concert for the local appeal."
Kenny hit the limelight at an early age, getting his first recording contract when he was in his late teens. His first hit 'Outstanding stormed into the charts, but his most acclaimed success was 'Thinking About Your Love in 1991, which reached number three.
He has performed in Blackburn three times.
"I enjoy doing the clubs," he said. "I am soon to work with K-Klass and Love to Infinity and have always been involved with dance music. But, although I don't like to pigeon-hole myself, I do class myself as a soul singer.
Kenny will be performing at 11pm on Friday and tickets for the evening, at £3, are available from the club.
