HOME office immigration officials were probing claims that passport racketeers were preying on East Lancashire's Asian community.
The probe centred on allegations that Asians coming into Britain as visitors were being illegally offered false Home Office passport stamps.
For a fee of about 1,000, visitors could have their passports stamped for indefinite entry.
The racket was allegedly run from an address in Leicester.
