DEDICATED roller hockey player David Wright is putting his skates on to raise cash for the trip of a lifetime.
The 21-year-old, of Inverness Road, Darwen, has been called up to play for Great Britain in the world championships in Italy later this year.
So far David, a former Darwen Moorland pupil, has received £370 from the Lloyd's Trust to pay for new skates and body padding and £100 from Blackburn and District Sports Council to help with travelling costs.
He still needs around £1,000 in sponsorship to pay for the two-week stay in Roccasario.
His mum, Marilyn said: "David has been saving for the trip but still needs help. We hope somebody comes forward to make his dream a reality.
"We are all really proud of him and think he has done really well to be selected, bearing in mind he has only been skating for two years."
David will set off to join his team mates on September 4. Anybody who can help should ring the family on 771097.
