THE Leyland school at the centre of an attempted kidnapping is having a new security system fitted to stop it happening again.
Last week the Citizen reported that three youngsters from the Seven Stars Primary managed to fend off a violent attacker. As he made his escape the stranger warned: 'I'll be back.' But headteacher Peter Schneidereit is determined he won't return.
He said: "We have reviewed our security measures and we are looking to improve the security of the building while trying to retain our openness as a school."
He said governors and officers from Lancashire Education Authority had been to the school to look at the place where the attack happened.
"That area of fencing is to be upgraded, the hedging is to improved and new fencing put in front of it," he said.
Last week the school held a fun week which brought everyone together and helped to overshadow the trauma of the past week.
But Mr Schneidereit admitted: "The children involved are coping well but I don't think they will rest until this person is caught."
