FOREIGN students set to arrive in Preston next month could find themselves homeless if no families come forward to offer them a bed.
More than a hundred teenagers look set to be stranded when they arrive in England at the end of August.
Now, Preston organiser Malcolm Hordern, fears they will be forced to sleep on floors.
He said: "At the moment we are getting a bit anxious and so are the children."
But there has been one success story, thanks to the Preston Citizen. Jose Toral from Ecuador has found a home in Ashton after a family read of the students' plight in this newspaper.
Andreas Beltzer said: "Research has shown that the programme has a great potential in this region. The students have a pressing need of a caring family as, if they do not receive news of a family by the end of this month, their visa applications may be rejected and their dreams shattered."
He added: "We have some 200 teenagers, some of them scholarship winners, anxiously waiting to see if their dream of a year in the UK can come true. It would be fantastic if people could help them."
If you can provide bed and board for a student aged between 15 and 18 call Malcolm on 626343.
