AN ANGLICAN church is teetering on the brink of extinction for want of support, according to its vicar.
The Rev. George Senior, Vicar at St Michael and All Angels Church, Foulridge, has sent a begging envelope to houses in the village with the latest edition of the church magazine.
The straight-talking clergyman says the church could close within ten years, leaving the picturesque churchyard an unkept jungle of weeds and brambles.
The church had an income of £5,564 in the first four months of the year but had to spend £7,086 on its upkeep.
