THE East Lancashire Snooker League is preparing for its third season, and following the success of the first two seasons is looking to expand with new teams.

The league is open to all players, with amateurs playing off scratch and professionals handicapped 14 points per frame. Team are drawn from all over east Lancashire.

Matches are usually played on a Monday evening and consist of five players playing one frame each. The league is self financing and in the 1995-6 season paid out almost £500 in league prize money, plus a further £430 to the individual and pairs knockout winners.

Registration for the forthcoming season are now being accepted with a final deadline of August 19 when the league's AGM will take place. Anyone wanting details can contact secretary Alan Holden on 01254 871388.
