Celebrate 60 years of illuminations in Happy Mount Park THERE promises to be quite a party in Morecambe next month as the town celebrates 60 years of illuminations in Happy Mount Park. And, thanks to the Citizen, you can be there at the very start, hobnob with the stars and take a look round the resort's newest attraction before it opens to the public, all completely free of charge. We have got hold of two family tickets to the illuminations switch-on and opening of the Never Never Land attraction which take place on the evening of Thursday August 1.
Those tickets enable two adults and two children to:
free admission to the park
the chance to meet and chat with special guest Ken Morley (Coronation Street's Reg Holdsworth).
an exclusive tour of the new-look Emerald Adventure attraction, now including Never Never Land, before it is officially opened.
and the chance to enjoy the rest of the party and a spectacular fireworks display.
Fire-eaters, stilt-walkers, bubble-blowers and magicians will join Ken Morley at the party to entertain what is expected to be a massive crowd.
And the man behind the illuminations and Emerald Adventure, Nick Westwell, said: "This is going to be even bigger and better than last year. Last year was nothing compared to what we have done inside the Emerald Adventure this time. A few people are going to be amazed."
Prices to enter Happy Mount Park during the evenings after August 1 will be £3 for adults and £2 for children, including entrance to the Emerald Adventure. But, if you want to get into the bumper first night free with our Citizen family ticket all you have to do is enter this one simple question.
What is the first name of Reg Holdsworth's wife in Coronation Street?
Send your answers on a postcard with your name, address and telephone number to: Citizen Reg Competition, Victoria Court, Penny Street, Lancaster, LA1 1AX. Entries must reach us by Monday July 29 and normal Citizen rules apply.
