AN L of a lucky day left bombshelled Sam Barber reeling in disbelief and delight.
Less than three hours after throwing her L-plates away she won a brand new £7,000 car.
Sam, 25, said "I'm still trying to believe it. It's fantastic. I have never ever been so lucky.
"I was still on cloud nine from passing my test.
"The only thing that stopped me from crying was the mascara I'd put on to give myself a bit of confidence in the morning," she laughed.
Sam scooped the metallic burgundy motor in the first company draw for a Rover 100 at Lucas Rists Wires, in Accrington, where she is a production worker.
She took yesterday morning off work to sit her test and was thrilled to pass after only four months of lessons.
She went in early to share the news with her fiance, Neil Hewson, a storeman at Rists, in Pickup Street, before starting work.
Sam said: "The lad from our section who went to the draw is quite a practical joker and I thought he was winding me up when he told me I had won the car.
"Nobody could be so lucky in one day.
"Then they were announcing it over the tannoy and taking me to my new car.
"I was shaking and everybody was hugging me and turning around with cameras," she added.
If luck comes in threes then Sam has one more to go.
"I'm putting the lottery on when I get home - and everybody wants to know my numbers," she said.
Sam and Neil, 29, a retained firefighter in Oswaldtwistle, live in Spring Street, Accrington.
