A MASKED, knife-wielding robber was forced to leap into a canal and drop most of his stolen haul after a brave butcher gave chase.
Police, whose underwater search team recovered the stolen store cash box from the Leeds-Liverpool canal, were hunting the masked man who managed to get away with £150.
But they praised Co-op butcher, Chris Cartledge, for forcing the robber into soggy submission.
