LANCASHIRE will look to their experienced players to drag them out of their poor run at Cardiff tomorrow.
They were considering calling up 21-year-old all-rounder Richard Green for his first Championship game of the season against Glamorgan.
But coach John Stanworth said: "After the two losses against Derbyshire we need to get a squad together for the NatWest game next Tuesday, and to upset the balance would be counter-productive.
"Greeny is very much in our thoughts because he is doing so well with the second team, but we will hold fire with him for the moment."
Lancashire are again without Neil Fairbrother, still struggling with the calf strain he suffered at Edgbaston last week, although he is hoping to play in the Sunday League game at Swansea to prove his fitness for the NatWest quarter final against Derbyshire.
Nick Speak returns to the squad in place of Mike Atherton, away on Test duty, while Ian Austin is also set for a recall if the pitch looks likely to help the seamers.
Paddy McKeown completed 1,000 runs for the season in style for Lancashire's second team yesterday.
The 28-year-old Scouser hammered 102 in an opening stand of 154 with Nathan Wood in the championship game against Northants, his fourth century of the season, to take his tally to 1049.
But Lancashire then collapsed to 211-6 against Northants leg-spinner Andy Roberts on a rain-affected second day at Bedford College.
