A TERRIFIED woman was abducted from the street and subjected to a serious sexual assault after being driven to a secluded cemetery.
The 33-year-old victim has told police how she was enticed into a car by two Asian men in the Stonyhurst Road area of Blackburn at about10pm last night.
The woman, who lives in Blackburn, was taken to Pleasington Cemetery where the assault took place.
After the assault, the woman's attackers stole her handbag and some of the contents.
She was able to make her way back to the main road where she flagged down a car and asked for help.
Three men who spotted her in a distressed state took her to Blackburn police station.
The woman, who has suffered minor injuries, was too shocked to be interviewed by police last night.
Detectives were hoping she would be able to speak to them today and give descriptions of her attackers and the car they used.
Det Sgt Rob Campbell, of Blackburn CID, said: "The alleged abduction took place in the Stonyhurst Road area of Blackburn between 9.45pm and 10.30pm and we would like to speak to anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area or who can give us information about the offence."
