A GO-KART centre has set itself on a collision course with local residents by trying to get the green light for future racing.
Prestige Indoor Karting has applied for renewal of planning permission to use part of a mill in Colne as an indoor racing track.
The brakes could go on the controversial races when the existing permission runs out at the end of January.
Budding Damon Hills and Michael Schumachers have angered people living near the track at Holker Business Centre in Burnley Road.
Residents claim noise from the racing and racers leaving the track late at night has caused problems.
They successfully opposed a previous planning application to extend the track's opening hours. The residents have been backed by local councillors.
The application to continue racing after the January deadline will be decided by Pendle Council's Colne area committee on September 9.
