THE relevance of whether our MPs are worthy of a 26 per cent increase in salaries, should be measured against our membership of the European Union.
What Brussels decides 'for our good' dominates our parliamentary legislation. Our MPs are now no longer masters in their own house. So what justification is there for a salary increase?
Furthermore, if we opt for a single currency, there goes our national independence and sovereignty.
So at that stage who needs MPs?
