HIGH speed help for Burnley youngsters at play has come from British Gas Transco.
The game was up for the town's Play Association when it ran out of cash and was poised to scrap a series of local summer trips.
But the company has saved the day by stepping in with £1,000 to hire a minibus for the kids for the summer.
And next week a group of youngsters will set off on the first of many trips - to the Highland Country Centre at Briercliffe.
The Play Association runs a series of playschemes at locations across Burnley which between them attract 800 to 1,000 children a day.
But the cost of staffing the events and laying on entertainment has spiralled over recent years.
British Gas Transco spokesman Mel Speight said: "When we heard of the group's plight, we decided to act."
