RESIDENTS turned out in their hundreds to enjoy a summer fun day to raise cash for a children's Christmas party.
The event, held in Cromer Grove, Burnley, was organised by the town's Eastern Avenue tenants' and residents' association. The fun and games lasted for most of Saturday and included a bouncy castle, stalls, games and a carousel.
Burnley Rotary Club chipped in with £150 to help kickstart the event, which is set to raise around £200.
One of the organisers, Tony Taggert, said: "It was a great day for the local residents and it will give the children a wonderful Christmas party.
This is our first fun day but it's been such a success I don't see why it can't become an annual thing."
