ROSSENDALE and Darwen MP Janet Anderson's comments (LET, July 18) on the possible breaking up of the Post Office into private regional companies just demonstrates how much Labour is divorced from the real world.
Privatisation has proved to be the best thing since sliced bread - so successful that other countries are now happily following the example.
Obviously, there have been hiccups and dissatisfaction with some of the management, but at least it has been in the public domain and will eventually be curtailed by the shareholders and customers.
As for Mrs Anderson's remarks that the Government would sell off its grandmother, if it came to hey-lads-hey, that would be a more preferable option than pawning her, which would be Labour's distasteful option.
After following her mentor, Jack Straw, to the trough amply filled with taxes from privatisations, instead of subsidies, she should be grateful to the Tories.
For with a Labour government, as history has proved, it would not be long before the cupboard was bare.
