IN reference to the article 'Blair in union pockets, says Tory' (LET, July 22), the comments made by Ribble Valley MP Nigel Evans once again expose his callow judgment.
In Parliament at Question Time, he is the perfect pawn for posing the 'planted question,' a time-wasting device or 'red herring'!
He may well be able to get away with this amid all the noise, but when his comments are written down for people to read they become a nonsense.
For any Tory to even broach the subject of party funding is a dangerous undertaking, given that Tory Party funds are surrounded in secrecy and couldn't stand the light of day.
Nigel Evans uses the word 'disgrace' in regard to Tony Blair. He should search his own conscience where he will find the disgrace is on himself and the Tory Party.
