A REUNION is being planned for all former miners in the Burnley area.
It follows the success of the March get-together of former workers at Fir Trees drift, Higham.
Organiser Bob Wilson said: "We want to get the word around so that as many as possible attend on Wednesday, August 21.
"We had a full turn-out, except for one man who was abroad, for the reunion of men who worked at Fir Trees and it was a really successful occasion.''
Ex-miners are asked to meet at Burnley Town Hall at 11am on August 21 before making the short walk to Burnley Miners Club in Plumbe Street.
There former colleagues will be able to renew old friendships and chat about the days down the pit.
