A PARTNERSHIP between all members of the community is the way forward to develop a new countryside park for Morecambe, according to Cllr Geraldine Smith.
The Citizen is backing a campaign to generate support for the proposed Central Park in the Westgate area of the resort and children are being asked to come up with an innovative and eye-catching logo to spearhead the campaign. Cllr Smith said: "We want to work with everyone to develop the park and that includes the people who own part of the land. Our idea is to upgrade the area and improve existing facilities."
Already suggestions to introduce bridal paths and a pets corner have been proposed.
Now, the Westgate Residents Committee is calling on everyone to take part in discussions at a public meeting next Thursday (August 8) at St Martin's church hall, Altham Road.
Send your logo ideas to Geraldine Smith, 26-28 Victoria Street, Morecambe LA4 4AJ.
