AN six-week-old puppy left starving and homeless, has been rescued by a Preston soldier serving in Bosnia.
Jack, a cross between a Jack Russell and an Alsatian, was picked up by Sapper Kevin Godlington of the 36 Engineer Regiment.
Kevin said he found Jack when he was on guard at the camp in Gornji Vakuf, central Bosnia.
He said: "I was on guard at the main gate when I heard some shouting. I went to investigate and found a puppy about six or seven weeks old.
"He was starving so we took him in and fed him up. We're looking after him until the next regiment come in and then they'll take him over."
Jack, settled in his new home.
