ITN newscaster Trevor McDonald - famous for speaking perfect English - was in Preston on Monday encouraging the rest of us to do the same.
He was visiting Preston College in his role as Chairman of the Better English Campaign which aims to inspire people to improve their communication skills.
The News at Ten anchorman said: "It is especially important that young people are able to communicate well, as they apply for jobs in an increasingly competitive market."
And he was in no doubt how important these skills are to business. He said: "The cost of correcting bad communications is huge."
He was guest at a the college's Fun Day and was presented with examples of work by children. Michael Cooke, eight, was one of those making an Express Yourself presentation to the newscaster. He said meeting 56-year-old Mr McDonald as 'nerve wracking'.
