FOUR kind-hearted youngsters put on a special show for a special little girl.
For the four from Upwood Close, Lowton - Kimberley Whittle, Leanne Carney, Mark Carney and Natalie Stokes - put on a charming performance of the classic 'Wind in the Willows' before an audience of 25 neighbours in a back garden and raised £30.
The cash will go towards helping little Sophie Lee of Edge Green Lane, Golborne, who is autistic, go to a special school to help her to speak.
The determined foursome spent two months rehearsing the show which had an appreciative audience of all ages.
Natalie was in charge of props and costume changes, as well as making sure all the home-made cakes and biscuits were sold!
Ann Whittle, Kimberley's mum, commented: "The children worked really hard at putting on this show and everyone who came to see it loved it.
"They have raised this money because they were so touched by little Sophie's problem, and they said they wanted to do something to help.
"Sophie meant more than all the wishes and dreams come true when those four children sang as loud as they could to help Sophie experience her very own wish."
Sophie's mum Kerry, 24, said: "I can't thank the children enough for their kindness in doing this show for Sophie. It was a lovely gesture and I am sure that their effort will encourage others to raise funds for autistic children besides Sophie. Thank you also to everyone who turned up for the show and helped."
