DAVE Lewis of Rossendale finished fifth on day two of the Northumberland Castles Challenge All-Terrain Marathon to maintain his position of fifth overall. One of the toughest stages of the 1996 event, runners had to battle with the rugged, hilly terrain and a ferocious cross wind, but Lewis recorded an excellent time of 22 min 41 secs. Andrew Pearson of Longwood Harriers leads, 53 seconds ahead of Lewis.
