SHAHID Nawaz has agreed terms to return to Read for a second season of Vaux Ribblesdale League cricket.
And that will disappoint several clubs from the Lancashire and Northern Leagues who have been keeping tabs on the Pakistani star.
"We know that other clubs have been taking an interest in Shahid so we are delighted he has signed again," said Read chairman Wilf Woodhouse.
"The fact is that he is happy here. He enjoys playing with the lads at Read and has settled in very well at the club."
Nawaz will have a benefit game at Read this Sunday when a number of league professionals, such as James Peterson, Robert Haynes and Mick Worden, will turn out.
It is also hoped some well-known Pakistani stars, who have played at Test level, will be there.
The game between the President's X1 and an International X1 starts at 2pm. Admission is £2 adults, £1 concessions and under-12s will be admitted free.
