SINATRA'S SWINGERS refused to buckle for their final bow.
And they swept to a famous victory in a nail-biting climax to the Matthew Brown Touch Rugby tournament at Tyldesley RUFC.
The Swingers - players and coaching staff from Leigh Rangers RLFC plus former BARLA half-back Stuart Pugsley - were unbeaten until nearest challengers Sivs Superstars rocked them with a 3-2 win in the opening game of the final phase.
But Superstars, made up of players from the Tyldesley & Leigh RU clubs, needed Swingers to slip up in their final game against the Mystery Men.
In a tense encounter, Swingers edged ahead in the last minute of the first half and a further two tries in the second half saw them home to pick up the winning cheque of £250.
Worsfolds won the plate competition against Greenwoods.
Tyldesley Seahawks, a spirited side of Leigh RL Supporters, managed only one victory in 24 games.
But they were awarded the Most Sporting Team award - and the biggest cheer of the night.
Matthew Brown have agreed to back the 1997 tournament after this latest success with more than 100 people ranging from 10 to 50 playing through two months of exciting rugby.
