CARL Fogarty is planning a repeat of his heroic deeds last season at Brands Hatch when the seventh round of the World Superbikes Championship takes place on Sunday.

Over 50,000 fans celebrated a Foggy double on the spectacular track last year as the world champion gained crucial points to eventually retain his crown.

Currently third in the table behind Australian Troy Corser and team mate Aaron Slight, Fogarty recognises the significance of Sunday's race.

"It will probably be my biggest race of the year - I need the points," said Fogarty.

"The crowds will be giving me plenty of encouragement and I'm really looking forward to this race.

"I have some good memories of this round last year.

"It's my first time at Brands Hatch on the Honda so I'm a little apprehensive.

"But every circuit has been like a new circuit for me this year."

Burnley man Neil Hodgson's confidence was boosted by his first taste of the podium in Superbikes in the last round at Laguna Seca.

"I went down for practice last week to get to know the circuit a little better," said Hodgson.

"My confidence is returning and a good performance here would be welcome."
