REGARDING the bid by residents of Finsbury Place, Ewood, to retain their heritage by keeping the cobbles in their street (Letters, July 2), I and other residents of Bonsall Street wish that someone from the council would walk down our street.
The pavements and the cobbled street are in a disgraceful state. But can we get them brought up to standard to match the lovely 'block grant' improvement work done on our houses a few years ago?
No, the council is too busy paving and tarmacadaming areas that no-one walks by and which don't need doing.
For goodness sake, councillors, come and see for yourselves. Before long, the road is going to collapse again, as it has in the past, and it will take council tax money to repair it over and over again.
What a disgrace to Mill Hill the bottom of Bonsall Street is.
