COLLEAGUES fought to save a 49-year-old cotton worker after he was found hanging at a Nelson mill early today.
But neither they nor ambulance emergency crews could revive Michael Jarvis at the William Reed factory in Every Street.
Colleagues became concerned when nightshift worker, Mr Jarvis, of Ruskin Avenue, Colne, had not been seen for some time.
A search was made and workmates found him hanging in a store room at the mill. The Burnley coroner has been informed and an inquest is expected to open next week.
Police say there are no suspicious circumstances.
