IN March, 1997, Mencap is staging a sponsored Nile Bike Ride, which will involve 150 volunteers bike riding for 500 km through 3,000 years of history - along the Egyptian river Nile.
Participants are asked to pay a registration fee of £200, and will need to raise a minimum £1,750, in sponsorship. But this figures is not as daunting as it may sound. Fundraising tips and guidelines will be offered.
There will be fabulous prizes for the top fundraisers and Mencap will offer other prizes to the slowest and least sweaty participants on the bike ride!
If you are interested, phone 0171 696 5515 for any information pack or write to The Nile Bike Ride, Mencap, Freepost, EC1B 1AA, stating where you heard about the challenge and enclosing your name, address and day time telephone number.
