POLICE chief Pauline Clare helped end a six-month military operation involving troop movements across the county when she re-opened an army cadet drill hall.
Commanders of the Haslingden Detachment of the Army Cadet Force have been transporting members across to Blackburn for twice weekly meetings.
Their own drill hall has been closed for refurbishment since December but now the company is back at base.
The opening was performed by Lancashire Constabulary Chief Constable Pauline Clare who was recently appointed honorary Colonel of the Lancashire Army Cadets Force.
Haslingden Detachment second in command 2nd Lt Tracy Frankcom said: "She is the firgurehead of the force and performs several ceremonial duties, one of which involved re-opening the Haslingden Detachment drill hall.
"This marks the end of quite a difficult operation."
Army cadets are boys and girls aged between 13 and 18.
