TOP ten GCSE student' Kamila Kubryn's success was a real polished performance.
Atherton 16 year-old Kamila, who aims to become a doctor, achieved six A* and four A grades when she sat exams at St Mary's RC High.
Yet all the questions she answered were in a foreign language!
Since she settled in Britain five years ago Kamila from Poland, has made amazing progress.
Last year she gained an A* GCSE result in Polish.
Proud stepfather, Stuart Adams, who is married to Kamila's mother Bozena, explained:"When she arrived in Britain the only words she knew were 'hello' and 'goodbye'. She was a bit surprised with the results even though she expected to do well. It is a bigger achievement than she realises."
Stuart met Bozena seven years ago while travelling in Germany. He returned with her, their baby daughter, Kamila and her teenage sister and settled in Atherton.
Now Kamila, who is a part-time shop assistant and hospital volunteer, will study for her A levels at St Mary's.
Friends are anticipating another polished performance!
