A PRESTON High School lost hundreds of pounds worth of sports equipment after vandals set fire to an outside store room.
Visitors to Fulwood Leisure Centre spotted smoke coming from the hut in the grounds of Fulwood High School on Black Bull Lane.
They alerted leisure centre staff who managed to get the blaze under control but not before smoke and fire damage had devastated a boat, a windsurfer, coconut mating and other sports tackle. The nearby gymnasium was evacuated as a precautionary measure.
