A MARRIED couple who run a local pub have reached the finals of a national business competition which aims to find Britain's top franchisee.
John and Jean Taylor,landlord and landlady of The Derby Arms, Carrs Green, Inskip, - a Greenalls Inn franchise - are one of nine finalists in the 1996 Franchisee of the Year awards sponsored by Midland Bank and the Daily Express.
The pair have been recognised for their achievement in investing in and refurbishing the traditional rural pub, making it an important part of village life.
Awards will be presented at a dinner at The National Motorcycle Museum, Birmingham on October 3.
