RAIN ruined almost all the games on Saturday, but brought joy to one club - Longridge.
The three points they got in their washed-out game at Thornton Cleveleys means that they cannot now be caught and are champions of the Moore & Smalley Palace Shield for the first time in their history.
In B Division, BAe Warton require just five points from the final three games to become champions and return the Premier Division.
In the only completed game in B Division, South Shore had a seven-wicket home victory over Torrisholme.
They bowled out their visitors for just 69, Andy Gillibrand did most damage taking 6-26 and Matt Smith 3-42. Shore then replied with 73-3.
The only other game completed was in E Division where Grimsargh had an eight-wicket win at Penwortham.
